Yet another blog

Welcome to just another blog in the huge blogosphere. I’ll start off with a bit of information about myself in this post and then why I decided to start this blog.

I’m commonly know as Dan or Daniboy, 31 years old and live in the UK. Don’t ask me why Daniboy as I know it’s spelt badly, I think someone set up an email address for me 9 years ago and spelt it wrong and it’s just stuck from there! I’m currently self-employed and working full time; computers, the internet and blogging have never really been my forte, but I’m learning and picking it up fast.

If you’d have told me a year ago that I’d be blogging I would have asked you what blogging is! If you’d have said I’ll be altering the layouts and code of sites I’d have probably fell about laughing at you.

So here I am blogging and playing with codes!

Why?

By accident really…. Last December I thought I’d run a website to compliment my main business. I phoned around and got quotes and I really didn’t have a clue, but before too long I came across a UK based SEO forum who were ever so helpful and easy to learn off of. One of the regulars there suggested I do it myself. I was pointed in the direction of the WordPress platform which I, after many long nights, managed to get to grips with (remember I was a complete newbie).

So here I am now. I’ve got another blog running on WordPress and hosted with Hostgator, a couple of mini-sites (simple html) and a new site for my main business, launched 8 days ago and also running in WordPress but not as a blog.

This brings me to why I started another blog. Simple really, to experiment further with WordPress and to document the changes, let people know of simple mods, tools and ideas.

Over the next week or so I’ll run through what I’ve done to this BloggingPro theme; tools and plugins, and give details on what I’ll do and have done to get it seen etc……

Blog Sites Online has a blog directory, run with the WP link directory plugin which you’re free to submit your blogs to, and if anyone would like to comment please feel free. Guest bloggers may also be welcomed, so if this appeals to you just submit a comment to that effect.
