Ok, nearly everyone likes directory submissions but a lot of the larger companies either can’t read or think all directory owners are stupid.
Just a quick note to re-iterate submission guidelines to the Blog Directory.
- Please do not submit to Root. Select the category closest to your blog. When I see something submitted to Root I just delete it!
- Keep it clean. No Adult Sites please.
- Your blog/site doesn’t necessarily need to be blog. If it’s clearly hosted on a blog platform and got content then it’ll be approved.
- Splogs - Single page shared hosting blogs designed to get your sites indexed? Post regularly to them and then submit here. If it’s regularly used it might be approved.
That’s about it and it’s actually larger commercial organizations who are Spamming. I’ve no real problem with spam because some of us dabble in spamdexing occasionally.
Happy submitting to the Blog Sites Directory.

1I’m not sure that the ability to read is a high criteria item when many companies hire a SEO firm. All they care about is being able to insert a link somewhere not that it actually stays.
The funny part is companies seem to be willing to pay for links just because they are submitted. They don’t seem to care if it will actually do them good, or if they will get accepted.

2Hello. These are good tips, as I also own a directory. It is probably not as sophisticated as your’s but I have just started it and want to get it running as soon as possible. Thanks again for these tips.

I see you’ve got the wordpress directory script installed. It is pretty simple to implement.
I also added a site to it.
