Brainstorming for names?

No not really. I hadn’t purposely decided to create this blog!

Before this blog came about I was thinking about a Discount Shopping site. A site offering online special offers, coupons and probably give aways. I know there are probably countless sites out there offering these kind of services and it would be a large task to come up with something worthwhile. I had come across a few sites along these lines and some of them are spam, offering sign-ups that just clutter your email inbox with useless junk. The site and ideas I have would only offer users relevant offers that they are looking for and from reputable big names.

I got the name I wanted after using this overture keyword tool by seeing what has been commonly searched with shopping related keywords. This was after hours of procrastination and getting very frustrated as every name that came up with was registered.

So now onto this blog! As I was searching I thought I’d take a break, clear my head and do random searches. I had the idea of a directory so I could experiment further with the WP Link Directory Plugin. Searches like “blog site”, “site”, and “online” threw up some interesting results - “blog sites online” wasn’t showing up as a searched keyphrase, but that didn’t matter as there were some strong keywords to go with others to strengthen up organic searches. It is in my belief there’s some SEO weight in keywords in the domain name.

In the end I registered this domain name partly out of frustration and I thought what can I do with it now? Blog or Directory? Last night I decided do both; a blog and a directory.

So there we have it, domain name sorted and now I’ve got to do something with it.
